Blog Post #6

1. Our plant uses photosynthesis to increase its biomass. This is done by using solar energy in order to produce glucose which is used to provide energy for the plant. Cellular respiration is also an important part of our plants growth. It produces ATP and releases waste. Parent cells in our plant create sister cells by splitting. Using mitosis, the plant increases its biomass. This is because it divides and produces more cells which leads to the plants growth.

2. The cell itself produces enzymes. Those enzymes are
PEPC and RuBisCo. The ribosomes in the cell translate a certain sequence of amino acids from genetic material to make PEPC and RuBisCo. It then combines with other cofactors such as lipids and other materials found in proteins.

Assignment 6

1. Our plant uses the energy gained from photosynthesis to grow in biomass. Cellular respiration also plays a big part in helping the plant grow, creating ATP and releasing waste. Using this energy for mitosis, parent cells in our plant split to create sister cells, increasing the biomass of the plant.

2. PEPC and RuBisCo are both enzymes that are made by the cell itself. To make PEPC and RuBisCo, the ribosomes in the cell translate a certain sequence of amino acids from genetic material. It then combines with other cofactors such as lipids and other materials found in proteins.
